Your Machine. Modern Electronics.

Not every shop needs a new balancing machine. If your balancer is mechanically sound but its electronics are outdated, unreliable, or no longer supported, a ProBal electronics upgrade gives you modern touchscreen capability on your existing equipment. The mechanical section of your machine stays in place. ProBal replaces the measurement electronics, display, and software with a current-generation system that runs the same ProBal DBS software found on brand-new ProBal machines.

Shops end up needing an upgrade for practical reasons. The original CRT monitor fails and there is no replacement available. The analog readout board develops intermittent faults that create unreliable measurements. The old software runs on an operating system that no longer receives updates, and it cannot connect to modern computers for data export or backup. Replacement parts for the original electronics become scarce or discontinued entirely. At that point, the shop faces a choice: scrap a mechanically good machine and spend full price on a replacement, or upgrade the electronics for roughly a third of the cost of new equipment.

This approach works for shops that have invested in a quality balancing machine and want to extend its useful life. Instead of scrapping a machine that still runs well mechanically, you bring its measurement and interface capabilities up to date. The result is a machine that performs like new at a fraction of the replacement cost. You get a modern touchscreen display, Windows-based software with USB connectivity and network capability, and the full ProBal DBS feature set including bobweight calculator, automated reporting, and operator guidance.

ProBal upgrades have been installed on machines from every major balancer manufacturer. Whether your shop runs a Hines, Stewart Warner, IRD, Schenck, Dynamics Research, Fentech, or another brand, the ProBal electronics package can be adapted to fit. Older ProBal units with first-generation electronics can also be brought up to the current platform. Even some competitors' machines that are no longer manufactured can receive a ProBal upgrade, as long as the mechanical section is in good working condition. Each upgrade is engineered for the specific machine it will be installed on, so you get a clean, integrated result rather than a bolt-on workaround.

Console Options

ProBal offers multiple console configurations to match your shop layout and preferences. The all-in-one design integrates the touchscreen, computer, and measurement electronics into a single compact unit that mounts directly to your machine. For shops that prefer a separate workstation, a standalone console option keeps the display and controls at a comfortable working height while the electronics mount near the machine.

A mobile console option is also available for shops that need to share one set of electronics between multiple machines. The mobile unit rolls between machines and connects quickly, letting you balance on any machine in the shop without duplicating your electronics investment.
